- analytical and numerical concepts (Matlab) of reliability analysis for structures and systems
- probabilistic models for loads and properties of engineering structures and systems
- calculating the failure probability: closed-form solution, first order reliability method, numerical integration
- basic and advanced concepts of Monte Carlo simulation: importance sampling, subset sampling, line sampling, concepts for systems approaches
- sensitivities of reliability analysis and imprecise probabilities
- series, parallel and mixed systems, survival signature
- risk assessment
- connection to codes, partial safety factors
